An Unreasonable Notion of Desire
George Kaczender's first novel
An Unreasonable Notion of Desire is the story of Gabi Fodor, an emigre film director with a jaded view of Hollywood, who awakes one morning to realize that his romantic expectations of life, art and love have gone unfulfilled. While on a walk in Beverly Hills that morning, Gabi notices a woman who bears a striking resemblance to the love of his youth, Marika, and on an impulse, he follows her. He discovers that she is a psychiatrist named Cass Atwill and he arranges for an appointment. Although Gabi soon learns that Cass is not interested in him, he has become obsessed with the idea that, through an affair with her, he can regain his lost youth, drreams and artistic inspiration.
"In his riveting, erotic story, George Kaczender
combines the insights of a novelist with the eye
of a screenwriter and director."
- George Jonas, author of Vengeance.
"George Kaczender's semi autobiographical novel
is a sexy, passionate and funny romp from a
boyhood in Europe to a film career in Canada and
Hollywood. The story is unique, memorable and
highly literate, a solid read from page one to finish."
- Noel Hynd, author of Cemetery of Angels.
