TANGO USA is a contemporary moral tale – a revenge story, set in New York City. It centers on a young woman, Vita, a professor of Latin American studies, whose parents were tortured and murdered by the Argentinean Junta in the 80’s Dirty War, and a journalist who falls in love with her unaware of the dangers she will bring into his life. After deciding to avenge her parents’ murderers Vita’s life becomes a never-ending moral and ethical conflict.
MAKEOVER is a romantic satire, about an assistant professor of philosophy who teaches aesthetics at UCLA and does extensive research into the concepts of Western Ideal of Beauty. He intends to marry an ideal woman who embodies, in his interpretation, both beauty and soul. This quest for perfection produces a series of amorous adventures, some comic, others serious, until he finally finds the right woman. The irony of his experiences makes him more aware of the realities of relationships between men and women in today’s society.
ABRACADABRA is a comedy/drama about a young and ambitious stock-trader working at a large financial institution in Los Angeles. One day he comes down with a mysterious, unheard-of disease for which there is no known cure. With the help of his shrink and a professional witch, he finds the cure that changes his life, his girlfriend’s, and everyone around him, forever.
DESCENT is a gripping, character driven psychological drama, set in Los Angeles, which centers on Beatrice, an actress in her early 40s. She attempts to overcome the tragedy in her family by creating an experimental stage production based on recent events in her life.
AN UNREASONABLE NOTION OF DESIRE is based on George Kaczender’s novel. It is the story of Gabi Fodor, an émigré film director with a jaded view of Hollywood, who awakes one morning to realize that his romantic expectations of life, art and love have gone unfulfilled. While on a walk in Beverly Hills that morning, Gabi notices a woman who bears a striking resemblance to the love of his youth, Marika, and on an impulse, he follows her. He discovers that she is a psychiatrist named Cass Atwill and he arranges for an appointment. Although Gabi soon discovers that Cass is not interested in him, he has become obsessed with the idea that, through an affair with her, he can regain his lost youth, dreams and artistic inspiration.
ELECTRA USA is based loosely on the tragedy by Sophocles. It’s a contemporary adaptation of the play focusing on Electra’s revenge on her mother, Clytaemnestra and her treacherous lover Aegisthus for the murder of Agamemnon, Electra’s loving father. In this story Agamemnon is an industrial tycoon; the owner of a military aircraft plant and Electra is a brilliant student of particle physics on the verge of an important discovery in string theory. In a tragic car accident Agamemnon kills Iphigeneia, his newborn daughter from Clytaemnestra. Upon discovering the death of her baby, Clytaemnestra, with Aegisthus’ help, murder Agamemnon in an uncontrollable rage on the spot of the car accident. Aegisthus, who is Agamemnon’s unscrupulous partner in the business, takes over the plant and marries Clytaemnestra. Electra, unable to cope with life after witnessing her father’s brutal murder, sets out to kill both Clytaemnestra and Aegisthus with the help of her brother, Orestes. It’s a story of daughterly love bordering on the insane, and the price you pay for “justified” revenge. It’s a timely story of obsession, jealousy, power and greed.
ROMANCE WITH MURDER is a thriller that centers on Frank, a dismissed professor of philosophy, who has been barred from all US universities and at the present time works as a waiter in a strip joint. One day a gentleman, who owns a computer company, comes to see him at the club and offers him a huge sum of money to kill one of his employees whom he charges with industrial espionage.
THE INQUISITOR is based on Howard Fast’s novel, “Torquemada”. The story is set in 15th century Spain during the most violent period of the Inquisition, orchestrated by the Grand Inquisitor, Thomas de Torquemada. It was a time of religious wars, intolerance and fanaticism. The film focuses on the friendship between Torquemada and Alvero, a Spanish nobleman and devout Catholic. Soon, this friendship deteriorates when Torquemada probes into Alvero's past and discovers that his parents were Jews. By the end of the story, Alvero and his wonderful family are destroyed by the Inquisitor who doesn't escape the experience either without some psychological and emotional damage. It's a human story of two extraordinary characters fighting for their beliefs set against an important historical epoch. Of course, history keeps repeating itself.
TALE OF THE FLOATING CITIES is a science fiction family oriented story that is centered on a four year old boy’s adventure in the world of contemporary fairy tales. It is action packed, highly visual with extraordinary sets, and is entertaining for both children and adults.
THE BEAUTIFULS is an erotic drama set against the background of the fashion industry in New York, the Fashion Week in Paris and the Grand Prix of Monte Carlo Formula-1 car racing. It explores the sexual morals of its characters; their narcissism; their endless preoccupation with their looks and their libidos. It also explores the vicissitudes of being beautiful. The story paints a critical portrait of our society's religious adoration of youth and beauty. Structurally it has some resemblance to Arthur Schnitzler's and Max Ophuls's, La Ronde.
The five characters are Rubin, 50's and Daisy, 40's, a couple that owns a fashion house in New York; Allegra, 19, their super model; Huntley their gay head designer, and Drake, 20's, a formula-1 racecar driver.
